The bar on the 7th floor of the Cheval-Blanc is all about the view, with it’s balcony almost ankle deep in the Seine, overlooking the left bank from the Eiffel Tower to Notre-Dame via Pont Neuf. The menu perfectly executes the old classics, such as an anthology hot Bloody Mary. The best seat in the house: at the U-shaped bar, window side, so you can slip out for a postcard-style kiss.

The bar at the Saint James has a formidable garden, still largely deserted at this time of the year, perfect for stepping into the shoes of a couple of lords flirting with each other during a stroll with a cocktail in hand.
