Petite Couronne: Must-See Places Just Outside of Paris

Want to get out of Paris, but not too far? Here are the places you absolutely must visit and all located in the enclosure of the Petite Couronne, just outside the gates of Paris.

La Petite Couronne includes 3 departments: Hauts-de-Seine (92), itself made up of 36 municipalities; Seine-Saint-Denis (93) made up of 40 municipalities including 2 with more than 100,000 inhabitants (Saint-Denis and Montreuil); and the Val-de-Marne (94) with its 47 municipalities and numerous taverns. In these three departments bordering Paris, there are many cultural gems to visit.

In the Hauts-de-Seine (92): La Défense where several exhibitions are offered throughout the year, the Château de Malmaison, Departmental Domain of Sceaux, the Departmental Museum Albert-Kahn, the National Domain of Saint-Cloud, the Museum of the 1930s (Musée des Années 30), la Manufacture et Musée nationaux (porcelain and ceramics Museum), le Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer (the French Museum of Playing Cards), Ile Saint-Germain Departmental Park, Vallée aux Loups Park, Edmond de Rothschild Park, Paul-Belmondo Museum, National Forest of Meudon, etc…

In Seine-Saint-Denis (93): the Cathedral Basilica of Saint-Denis, Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (Air and Space Museum), Sausset Departmental Park, Ladoucette Castle, Moulin de Montfermeil (the Montfermeil Mill), etc…

In Val-de-Marne (94): Château de Vincennes, MAC VAL – Museum of Contemporary Art of Val-de-Marne, Fragonard Museum of the Maisons-Alfort Veterinary School, Jean Dubuffet Foundation, Maison Doisneau, Sainte-Catherine Island, Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois Church in Fontenay-sous-Bois

Just a few (good) ideas that should help you plan some weekends just outside the capital.
