The Paris Council recently voted in favour of a quadrupling of the surcharge on the taxe d’habitation for unoccupied homes in the city. A study looked at the difference in price between the different floors of a typical Paris apartment block, both with and without a lift. The results are surprising. 

The extraordinary price growth seen this year in the capital has reached another summit. Recent figures showed the Paris price per square meter average in uncharted territory with all arrondissements seeing appreciation in the last 12 months. 

The Paris property market in the first quarter of 2017 saw almost double the activity of the previous year, with price growth accelerating to reach 5.5% year over year through March. 

A luxury apartment in the 16th arrondissement decorated in the style prevalent during the Second Empire (1852-1870) is up for sale. Eleven rooms, 524 m2, plus a large garden are available for the willing buyer.
