Abandoned Paris Metro Transformed: SK Station
Station SK is an abandoned metro station that could well become everyone’s favorite hangout in Paris. But patience, the wait will last at least until 2025.
For the record, SK is the name of the metro line that was to connect Noisy-Mont d’Est to the new Maille Horizon business district, in Seine-Saint-Denis. It was to be a vast project of 518 meters that never saw the light of day and the SK metro station was abandoned. A real ghost town, there is still an old ticket machine that only accepts francs. Since then, many street artists have used it as a canvas: graffiti covers the walls and cabins.
With its surface of 2500 m2 it will turn into an interesting and multi functional space. And it would seem that in the next few years, the ghost station will be completely transformed. A project not quite realized, but the city of Noisy-le-Grand has given some clues. It is to be a place of culture, bar, restaurant… It is a multi-faceted place that will delight the masses. Cabins transformed into works of street-art, a climbing wall in the basement, or even a brasserie on the mezzanine, in short, it smells promising. In the meantime, the call for projects has been launched, and a team will be appointed in December 2022. We can’t wait to see it all take shape!
