A subway ride from Paris: Long walks in the countryside

For this three-day weekend, we took to the subway-accessible hiking routes offered by Helloways to allow you to travel to the countryside without going far.

Pont de Sèvres metro station:

Loop in Saint-Cloud park, 120 hectares larger than Central Park (12.3km – 3 hours) This pretty walk will take you to the Saint-Cloud park (Hauts-de-Seine) which, with its 460 hectares, is larger than Central Park and offers beautiful panoramas of Paris and the Eiffel Tower.

Pont de Neuilly metro station:

Bucolic walk in the heart of Paris (13.6 km – 3h30) On the program of this bucolic walk in the heart of Paris, a crossing of the Bois de Boulogne (16th arrondissement) from its north-western point to its south-eastern point. In particular, you will discover the pretty Saint James pond, the Île aux Cèdres and the Louis Vuitton Foundation. You will follow the canals to the lower lake, follow the reservoir lake and enter the magnificent garden of the Auteuil greenhouses. To end in style and after passing by the Mirabeau bridge and its rather cool view of the Eiffel Tower, you will cross the André-Citroën park to finally reach the Petite belt. There is a lot to see on this hike.

La Défense metro station:

In the heart of La Défense (10.2km – 2h30) Europe’s leading business district, La Défense (Hauts-de-Seine) straddles Puteaux, Courbevoie, Nanterre and Garenne-Colombes. Much more than the famous skyscrapers, this walk will take you to discover unusual places, greener than you imagine. On the program are the André Malraux departmental park, the famous Nuages towers, the island of Puteaux and its Naturoscope, as well as the vines of La Défense.
