Who owns investment property in France and from which countries do most short term rental visitors come?

Posted on December 2, 2011 by Paris Property Group

An interesting look at who owns investment property that is rented out short term in France and who their renters are.  Perhaps unsurprisingly over 80% of all short term rental apartments are owned by French, followed by Italian, American and Swiss owners.

Who rents apartment short term in Paris for vacations or temporary stays, and where do they tend to rent?  The vast majority are French, followed by Americans and other anglophone countries like Australia, Canada and the UK.  As expected, well over half stay in a handful of arrondissements in central Paris.

Three quarters of all apartments rented short term in Paris are studios or one bedroom apartments.
